INGREDIENTS


Serves 8 to 10

6 lb Pathmark ground beef
1 large yellow onion, diced
29 oz can Pathmark tomato sauce
28 oz can Pathmark crushed tomatoes
28 oz can Pathmark stewed tomatoes
40 oz can Pathmark kidney beans,
drained and rinsed in cool water
12 oz bottle chili sauce
1 cube beef bouillon
1 packet of original chili seasoning
1/2 C Pathmark soy sauce
1/4 C Pathmark Worcestershire sauce
2 T paprika
2 T cumin
2 bay leaves
Dash cayenne powder

Brown the beef and onion in large pan or skillet, drain liquid; transfer to a crock pot.

Add remaining ingredients to crock pot and mix well. Cook for 4 to 5 hours on low.

  • Texan Cowboy – add 1/2 cup soy sauce, 1/2 cup bourbon whiskey and 1/2 cup brown sugar.
  • Spicy Southwest – add extra paprika, dash red pepper flakes, 1 oz Tabasco, dash chili powder or red ground pepper to taste.
  • Mexican Mole – add 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate, dash cinnamon and cardamom.

  • You can also make this recipe in a large stock pot and simmer on medium-low heat for one hour.
